The “vCard” has become an increasing more popular way to stake your claim on the Internet. Having some type of virtual business card is a necessity for anyone looking to showcase a portfolio or even simply have a profile with some biographical and/or contact information.
With web hosting and HTML templates available at record low prices, the vCard has become a cost-effective easy way to convey your content via web in a modernly cool fashion.
I am excited about one in particular. Why? It’s responsive, meaning it will adjust the content according to the screen width of the visitor. This means people using mobile devices of all kinds, as well as desktops/laptops, will be able to view your website as it was intended.
Being a fan of minimalism and simplicity, this vCard template made my #2. Smooth transitions between pages and a clear path through the information make this HTML template very user-friendly. Aside from function, there are 10 backgrounds to work with to fit your design needs.
This template can be extremely effective for a photographer or anyone who has an interest in having a full-screen background image slideshow. Some background slideshow templates I have seen tend to run a little on the slow side, but because of the simplicity of the site, the slideshow takes very little away from any functionality and/or load efficiency.
Another thing I love about this one is the scrolling Twitter feed; a really nice touch.
To Sum It Up
At $7-11 per license for a vCard HTML template, plus a few hours of work from Letter Eye Media to set up and customize, it has become cheap, quick, and easy to get your virtual place on the web set up for potential clients, vendors, and employers.
